Refined by Fire has small gold-orange quilled unusual form blooms. It also has staggered rebloom. The flowers start blooming here in late May, five weeks before peak bloom. The form is more refined than its pod parent and also more resistant to fading late in the day. A clump at peak bloom reminds me of campfire full of twisting flames. Fertile both ways. Refined by Fire bloomed very well in the Shoemaker garden at the Tulsa, OK Region 11 summer meeting in 2022.. As a result, I was awarded the Region 11 Hybridizer Award. That same year at the Oklahoma City daylily exhibition Refined by Fire won Best Unusual Form.
