Lamp unto My Feet starts blooming in late May in mid-Missouri zone 6a and continues with 3 staggered rounds of instant rebloom on slender moderately dark scapes until mid-season. It is nocturnal & extended - the dark buds are fully open by sunset, but take on the unusual form by morning. The back of the blooms show the dark reverse of the sepals. Blooms are still fresh at sunset for a full 24 hours showing. (Mignon × Silver Drops) Fertile both ways.

This bright and very early cultivar has been a season extender and strong parent in my small UF line. A seedling from it is registered as Light unto My Path because it begins blooming just as this pod parent ends. Together they not only make a full verse, with continuous presence of this color, size and form in the garden for more than 8 weeks. Name inspiration: Psalm 119:105 and Hymn
