Glory Be Prepare the Way is a cream-melon-pink polychrome bloom that has very dark inky scapes and lavender bracts. Fertile both ways. (Stella's Ruffled Fingers x From Darkness Comes Light)

It is my favorite introduction to date. The well branched inky-dark scapes appear in early June in zone 6a and are a delight even before it blooms. Lavender bracts add to the attraction. Buds begin to open at sunset. Like its pod parent, petals sometimes melt in an early summer heavy rain. It has been an important parent. It is a bit reluctant as a pod parent.

Name inspiration: Isaiah 40:3 A voice of one calling: “In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord." The appearance of these scapes prepare the way for a glorious bloom season in my garden!
